Perfect but Pricey

Used 54 of these installing my radiant heat. 53 of them seated perfectly with no leaks on the first try. Last one only needed a little tightening up to be leak free. They are a bit expensive but once you already bought the Uponor manifolds, what else are you going to do.

Didn't work with Zurn Oxi-Barrier Pex

I purchased 14 of the 3/8" QS-style R20 Thread to adapt to existing Zurn Oxi-Barrier PEX tubing. Ten of the connections leaked. Loosened and inspected each connection for defects and re-tightened with more tension and then with less tension. Nothing helped. Contacted Uponor Tech. Service just to make sure I was using the product correctly. They reassured me that this connection was made for PEX but couldn't say whether or not the Zurn PEX could handle a compression type connection. The fix: Purchased the 3/8" Uponor expansion adapters X R20 thread and 3/8" Viega PEX-Press couplings to adapt to the Zurn PEX. Bottom line, if you're using this product to adapt to Zurn Oxi-Barrier PEX beware.

good start

easy to use and good quality, since the radiant heat work is increasing, this was good start without investing in crimp tools, including ability to service as necessary. These pieces and the complimentary fittings

Just a piece of the puzzle

These don't seem to leak as much as the older ones without a o-ring.

Quick, Easy, Leak-Free installation

Rapidly connects PEX radiant floor tubing to the Uponor(Wirsbro) Manifold. Be careful not to damage the O-Ring and once tightened-No Leaks.

Great connector

What a great connector for odd size PEX tubing. It was simple to install and accepted the conversion nipple so a hose could be attached.

Easy Installation

Very easy attachment to the EP manifolds. Used mostly 5/16", and they all easily held 100 psi.

Q: I need to move my manifold and shorten up the tubing on the supply side. These fittings were used for connecting and have passed a pressure test however have not gone thru a heating sesason yet. Can I re use these fittings or do I need to replace them?

You can reuse the fittings, but we'd recommend that you cut off the used end of the tubing where the existing fitting was installed.

You may need to replace the ferrule, but the other fittings should be fine. Check the o-ring and replace if it is damaged, otherwise you may want to apply a very small amount of lubricant (silicone grease works) to the o-ring to make it slide into the mating fitting easier. I have reused this type of fitting several times with no problem. The sealing surfaces are the barb and the o-ring, so make sure those are not damaged. --Mike

you can reuse the fittings, but the split rings and o rings should be replaced.

I've re-used that fitting before with good results. Do NOT re-use it if the threads are damaged or stripped, and do NOT nick up the compression sleeve with your pliers removing it from the tubing. Been there done that. I learned to always have an extra fitting lying around just in case. Good luck.

If pass pressure test you can re-use.

Check the compression ring. If there's no nicks, you should be able to reuse them. If not, you can just get the rings. The threaded fittings should be good to go.

I have reused these fittings successfully. You may have to replace the compression rings. PexSupply sells the replacements.

Yes you can use the same fittings as long as you cut pex ttubing and use a clean end. Good luck.

This (part A4020500) is the fitting you need to make a compression connection with 1/2" PEX and the TruFLOW manifold. You can use part Q4020500 to make ProPEX connections if you have the proper tool.

Q: Can these connect 5/16" hepex to Rifeng ss manifold? If not what would be the correct adaptor?

These fittings would not work, as Rifeng manifolds use a different thread style. Unfortunately there are no 5/16" fittings that are compatible with Rifeng manifolds.
