Description

Please note: Uponor has discontinued its range of MLC PEX tubing. This item is only available until stock depletes.

Uponor MLC Tubing is a multi-layered composite tubing consisting of an interior aluminum tubing lined with inner and outer layers of PEX. Layers are bonded to the aluminum by a special adhesive. MLC offers 100% oxygen diffusion, protects against corrosion and can be embedded in concrete and installed in walls, floors and ceilings.

The flexibility of MLC tubing results in easy roll-outs. The stay-in-place rigid feature of the tubing works great for hydronic baseboard, radiator, unit heaters, air handlers or manifold connections.

Uponor MLC tubing is manufactured to the following standard:
  • ASTM F1281 (Standard Specification for Cross-linked Polyethylene/Aluminum/Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX-AL-PEX) Pressure Pipe

Uponor MLC tubing carries the following Standard Grade Hydrostatic ratings from Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI):
  • 200 degrees F at 100 psi
  • 180 degrees F at 125 psi
  • 140 degrees F at 160 psi
  • 73 degrees F at 200 psi

Uponor MLC has the following listings
  • ICC
Uponor MLC is approved in the following codes.
  • IMC

Note: Uponor MLC tubing is used in hydronic heating installations only.

MultiPress MLC PEX-AL-PEX Fittings and PEX-AL-PEX Compression Fittings can be used to make piping and manifold connections with this tubing.

PEX-al-PEX Chamfering Tool (1/2", 3/4", 1") is required to ensure the tubing is prepped for secure connections.

Perfect for my project

We tore out wall to open up our dining room and needed to reroute 3 - 3/4 inch copper lines feeding zone systems on the 2nd and 3rd floors. This was much easier to run then sweating together numerous pieces of copper.

Product and service both great

Product was recommended by Warmboard for an in-floor radiant heat system I'm installing (DIY) Their ordering procedure and delivery was both efficient and prompt. I'll be back.
