We use this for running PEX tubing to install retrofit radiant heat under floor joists, and also to run hot/cold lines together. When running two coils at once we use a piece of transfer plate to hold down the top coil. We screw the legs to a piece of plywood to improve stability.

Pros: Eliminates the need for a plumbers helper on most jobs. Folds into a nice small size to fit in any vehicle.

Cons: Stabilizer legs fold down for storage making initial setup difficult. We suggest having them fold up on future versions and making them a bit longer. There is no provision to secure the second coil, but we use two coils at once often. A second level hold-down would be a nice addition (or option). Neither of these "cons" is enough to prevent us from HIGHLY recommending it.

I am a plumber. We use sleeved uponor pipe. This doesn't work to well for the 400' 3/4" pipe. It's a bit flimsy and has pieces that fall apart. It needs locking pieces and be able to fold up without taking everything apart. But it does work better than our homemade one. I'm relatively happy with it for the two jobs I've used it on so far.

It looks clunky and takes a little to set up but I won't do an install without one. I have tried it both ways.

i used the uncoiler to install radiant tubing in my concrete slab in the garage as well as under floor joists in the house. i couldn't have done the job without it. With so many aspects to installing radiant heat, the uncoiler makes takes out one worry. I screwed the legs down to a scrap piece of plywood and didn't have a single problem with it.

I needed to run 1000' rolls of pex. I looked everywhere to rent a uncoiler but couldn't find one. A friend told me about pex supply .com, so when I checked out the site I immediately cancelled my order with my local supplier. Their rolls of pex were almost double the price for the same product. With that being said I saved about $800 and that's including the uncoiler. It is simple to assemble and works so smooth. I did not get the pex tangled up once. I love this product!!

I don't know how I would have handled the 1000 foot coil of 1/2 inch pex without it.I did mount the feet to a piece of plywood. I intend to use it for pulling electrical wiring.

Used to install 6000 ft of PexAlPex and it preformed flawlessly despite the weight and stiffness of the tubing. I expect to perform even better when used with the standard Pex. After using it was easy to take apart and pack for storage.

Very simple to use..drop on the roll, drop down the top cage, cut the tape off the roll and place the one end through the eye and start to pull, very happy with the unit..just the price hurts

We fastened the uncoiler to a 4 ft. by 4 ft piece of 3/4 plywood to keep it stable and then stacked another roll of PEX on top. The uncoiler let one man do what usually takes at least two men and there was less frustration.
We very soon stopped using the pex guards as they continued to fall down and stop the uncoiler from turning.

I am sure I put a 1000 foot roll on with at least 2-300 foot rolls on top of the upper spindle to give it weight and keep it snug to the 100 foot roll.
The question is why would you want 2 long rolls on it? I don't think you would want to connect two 1000 foot rolls end to end (with a splice) so you could just roll out a length of 2000 feet (or 1964 feet) all in a shot (perhaps as 8 loops).
I personally want to keep really good tabs on what is left on my rolls and how much I will use for my next loop length (planning for all 8 loops made to not have any splices!) I just don't like splices sealed in my floors.
