Uponor recommends the use of smaller coils of 300 ft or less for 1" diameter tubing.
not that i know of, most Pex has footage markings stamped onto the tubing itself.
There is no measuring device attached to the uncoiler. I used 1000 ft coils as well. The PEX line had foot markers ion it so you just have to keep track of where you started and where you end. It made the job a lot easier.
The E6061000 uncoiler will only hold one 1000' roll of 1/2" PEX tubing at one time.
No, it only holds one roll. Its a must have for laying pex. It also just barely fits 1000' of 3/4 hdpe sdr11.
We used two rolls, one red and one blue, at the same time to save the effort to run the water supply together. It was much faster this way, and we end up with a much neater looking installation. We put the first coil on normally, then the hold-down metal, then the second coil to keep the two coils apart. We used a piece of radiant panel laying across the top of the second coil to keep it in place, and it worked well. See the picture.
I don't think I ever put 2 -1000 foot rolls on at one time for my project but I am sure you could have them on there... the unit would not break or anything. I am sure I put a 1000 foot roll on with at least 2-300 foot rolls on top of the upper spindle to give it weight and keep it snug to the 100 foot roll. The question is why would you want 2 long rolls on it? I don't think you would want to connect two 1000 foot rolls end to end (with a splice) so you could just roll out a length of 2000 feet (or 1964 feet) all in a shot (perhaps as 8 loops). I personally want to keep really good tabs on what is left on my rolls and how much I will use for my next loop length (planning for all 8 loops made to not have any splices!) I just don't like splices sealed in my floors.
Yes, but what would be the purpose as you have to start the new roll anyway, just takes a minute to mount the second roll Mine held a 1000 foot 5/8"
No, 500 feet of 3/4" PEX would be the maximum.
Worked fine for me...
yes. We used 1000 ft rolls of 1/2 inch and there was plenty of room for a roll of 3/4.
Yes, for 1/2" tubing the uncoiler will hold up to 1200 ft.
