The ZD is a power close and spring open damper. It has a 24-volt motor used to control circulating air in heating, cooling and ventilating systems. It is used when a normally-open damper is required. The ZD is typically used with the TrueZONE systems and other electronic zoning systems.

- Adjustable range stops.

- Simple, easy-to-wire, two-wire installation.
- Reliable, strong, 24-volt spring-return motor.
- Fail-safe, normally open operation.
- Compatible with conventional and networked zoning.
- Ordering Instructions: Order ZD (dimension 1) x (dimension 2). (Motor is always mounted on dimension 2 side.) For example, ZD10x8 is a 10 in. x 8 in. damper with the motor on the 8 in. side; but a ZD8x10 is a 8 in. x 10 in. damper that has the motor on the 10 in. side.
- Damper can be installed in any orientation (mounting side can be on either the bottom or the side of the duct).

Better than it's predecessor
Honeywell improved their design with this line. The actuators/servos are more rigid and the linkage appears to move more fluidly than the gen 1 line. The status LED and position window also make it easier to verify actuation. Two of the three gen 1 dampers on our system bought the farm, so I replaced all three and so far so good. I would recommend doing the same if one of the dampers on your multi-zoned system go bad, replace the whole unit on all rather than just the actuators on the one that's dead. But once, cry once and forget about them for another 10+ years.

Great and Easy Product
These were easy to install, I had to enlarge the opening a bit versus the old ones but that was the hardest part by far (not hard at all) They slid in great and are super easy to wire with the Honeywell panel I purchased from Supply House also.

HVAC Contractor
Honeywell dampers aren't always available locally from supply houses. This was a great alternative to the situation. I am always concerned about the warranty, but this product has a low fail rate.
