3/4" Standard Aluminum Anode Rod, 100108260

Check overhead clearance for rod. Check rod end will not contact heater surface. Start with 2 drops of penetrating oil the day before; then a bit more to help torque with impact wrench that won't move the whole heater. Put a clear mark on the nut to indicate movements. Work on loosening while heater is still warm. Reverse impact torque frequently. Seal tape reduces needed tightening torque. FIRST turn on the cold water valve before heat is started. Drain a gallon or more before reheat. Sometimes a magnesium rod can be better. Remove rod within 3 years to check status.

I received the anode rod in a timely manner. Unfortunately I haven't been able to remove the original anode rod yet from my 3 year old water heater. The original rod is giving me a hard time. I'm gonna have to buy an impact wrench or call a plumber.

After speaking with customer service, they pointed me to this exact Anode, because the typical .840" diameter anode will not fit through the hole in my water heater. Great customer service and great selection of maintenance items, in stock!

I needed a 26" rod, you cut off 3". Advice is to use a 1/2" Impact to get it loose. Teflon tape on threads 2-3 wraps will do. 30 gallon AO 2018 Smith. The old rod was still good, so check it first before ordering! Might save $.

Change this rod in your water heater

Well packaged. Was exactly what I ordered. Very easy transaction.

What can i say it was stunning. Came in a huge oversized box, you could put a small child in it, but i didn't.

Because the hot water heater was located in a corner, it was very hard to get any leverage to remove the old anode rod, I finally used an impact wrench to remove it!!!! Cleaned up the threads with a wire brush, wrap with Teflon tape, carefully put the new one in. Perfect!!!!!

Correct product and was packed well and not damaged in shipping. The other rods threads were buried in the tank and could not get it out. Rounded out the nut. Did not install the new one.
