IPS and NPT threads are both tapered. You can connect the DS05C1055 valve to the 3/4" ball valve with part TBN-12CLOSE.
Yes, IPS, stands for, iron pipe size, NPT, stands for, national pipe thread, it's one and the same. The only time it wouldn't work, would be, if you had something marked with metric threads.
Iron Pipe Size. It's used to determine the diameter of black iron pipe. It's not straight pipe.
Sorry just checked w/ manufacturer and they said their ISP designation IS compatible with NPT So now I am confused too!
