PEX-AL-PEX tubing will work for that application. We recommend that you ensure you are using properly-sized tubing for your application.
We would recommend standard oxygen barrier PEX (rather than PEX-AL-PEX), as there are more options for fittings. PEX-AL-PEX is certainly another option, however, if that's what you prefer.
Rifeng PEX-AL-PEX is rated to 200 psi at 73°F and 160 psi at 140°F. It can be used with potable water, but only with NSF-approved fittings. All PEX-AL-PEX tubing has a layer of aluminum embedded. This tubing is made in China.
Rifeng's PEX-AL-PEX tubing does not have NSF approval for use with potable water.
SharkBite fittings only work with standard PEX tubing (as well as copper and CPVC). They do not work with PEX-AL-PEX.
The pressure loss is based on temperature and pressure rating and gallons per minute.
PEX-AL-PEX tubing is not rated for use with steam.
Yes, you can.
Probably not. The diameter of PEX-AL-PEX does not match up to the diameter of regular PEX (because of the aluminum layer). 1" PEX has a .862" ID, while 1" PEX-AL-PEX has an ID of just about 1". PEX-AL-PEX is not compatible with standard PEX fittings (crimp, clamp, expansion, SharkBite, etc.). You must use compression or press fittings with PEX-AL-PEX.
The I.D. is 0.490". The O.D. is 0.636". You need to use a fitting that is for 1/2" PEX-AL-PEX (such as PAP-0500M).
