Warranty Process is Horrific

After 6 years of owning a Bosch tankless water heater, the unit strated leaking at the heat exchanger, which has a 15-year warranty. I had a plumber contractor come out to look at it and start the warranty process. You MUST have a professional contractor start the warranty process. Within a few days, Bosch sent a new heat exchanger and heat exchanger condenser, but one of the parts arrived damaged. Also during that time, it was discovered that the leak had caused the electronics to no longer work. By poor design, the electrical components are below a water source that is capable of leaking. If you experience a heat exchanger leak, your motherboard will likely be damaged. BUYER BEWARE!!! Bosch will NOT work with a homeowner, your plumbing contractor will have to do all of the communication and send videos and they will still be difficult to work with. They told my contractor that they would ship a new part that was damaged in shipping but never did, then they asked for another video showing that the leak caused damage to the motherboard. After reviewing a second video we sent, Bosch said that it didn't look like we pushed the on/off button all the way and even suggested that the home electrical breaker was off. The very first video we sent, showed water dripping over the electronics, clear as day!!! They will make you feel like you are trying to rip them off during the warranty claim process and it will take 24 hours for them to respond to any communication so any back and forth communication takes DAYS, while you are without hot water!!! If you try calling them on the phone, they will send your plumbing contractor into a blackhole and then disconnect the call (this happened 3 times). The people in customer service are so unprofessional too! One guy told me that "his computer be tripping more that he does." I wish I was making this stuff up! Just save yourself the money and don't buy anything in this category from Bosch.

Overall a good job

The only thing wrong is that I can't have two things running at once or the temp fluctuates.

Read all. Starts tuff ends with this Bausch being a THOR.

Installed prev model using plumber. BOUT 2002. Erratic behavior then started to leak at 2 yrs. Contacted Bausch and with much patience n help from cust serv n tech determined problem. Incorrect install not manufacture error. Too small gas pipe supply n exhaust straight up using galvanized pipe..HUGH no no. They sent me a new 830 anyway though not their fault. I installed that sob correctly aka proper venting with moisture capture all stainless pipe is a must. Larger gas pipe supply. The galv pipe n venting route caused the leak as water dripped via galv onto copper heat exchanger. That's 17 YEARS AGO.. raising children from grade 3 thru the heavy shower usage TEEN YEARS. NOT A PROBLEM EVER once installed correctly. Yesterday it stopped. Did some research (Bausch has great info out there) though I knew the guy had been a warrior for us, I figgered it's prob on its death kneel and decided gonna have to buy a new one. But Noooooo.!!! Using info etc I got yesterday found a dirty connection , cleaned it up 30 min. BAMMM! Onward and floward THING WORKS GREAT. Wife says " you mean I can take a shower?" THOR n Bausch made me a hero. If it goes caput I'll not belly ache. Been a very respectable run.. I will promptly go out a buy it again. Nuff said. Fyi. 3 BR 3 Bath house with kids. Best to you all.

Great water heater

This unit replaced an older unit which did not function properly anymore. This is a great unit. I love tankless water heaters. This is my fifth one so I must love them, beside, I hate heating water I am not using.
