Description

MINICAL float type automatic air vents are designed to vent released air from the water while being heated. They are used on manifolds or pipes in sealed heating systems. MINICAL is a standard size air vent that will discharge up to 1.75 SCFM. This MINICAL model is equipped with a hygroscopic safety cap. Cellulose fiber discs serve as the redundant seal. Their volume increases by 50% wet which "causes" the discharge vent to close. This MINICAL model is also equipped with a service check valve which facilitates maintenance operations by shutting off the water flow when the air vent is removed and also allows an easy replacement of the air vent without purging the system.

Solid Product, Great Price, Fast Delivery
Excellent quality, precision machining, great price and delivery from Supply House. Just installed so can't comment on longevity but expect the check valve to be a game changer - easy to swap in a future replacement instead of bleeding system.

Easy installation and works great
I purchased 3 of these so I could install one in each of the zones of my boiler system. Luckily for me there were already manual bleed valves in the right location in each zone so it was just a matter or taking the manual ones one and putting these in their place, which took about 30 minutes. I wish I did this 20 years ago because within about 4 hours of the boiler running I no longer heard air in the system and still after a month boiler is air free.

Hygroscopic cap and check valve eases use
No more guessing how much to open the cap when purging, especially when you have to squeeze through a jungle of zone piping. The check valve makes swapping it out every few years very quick and easy.
