Compatibility & Applications:
- For non-potable plumbing, heating, laundry, garden hose, and equipment draining where a 1/2" male hose outlet is needed.
- Fits systems that accept either 1/2" female sweat or 1/2" MIP inlet connections.
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Sweat or thread the inlet per job requirement, then connect to standard garden hose threads on the outlet.
- Position as an angle drain for accessible service. Use appropriate soldering practices on the sweat side or thread sealant on the MIP side.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Operate periodically to prevent sticking. Replace packing or handle hardware if leakage occurs at the stem.
- Inspect soldered or threaded joints for seepage after startup.

Dahl's the best!
Dahl is the best quality valve I've found. Other high-end plumbers generally agree. A word to the other reviewer...boiler drain valves, washing machine valves, etc. do not need to be lead free.

Dahl 221-01-04-PK2 Valves
I wanted these valve for use on a clothes washer but they are not lead free and do not meet the current code.
Other Dahl valves are lead free according to your web page. The web page makes no reference to the lead content of the valves.

Q: What do you mean by "rough brass"? Is this not compatible with some brass 1/2 inch female connections? Someone raised the issue of lead. Does this valve contain lead or other metals other than brass?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThe finish is rough brass, as opposed to chrome. It will sweat onto standard 1/2" pipe or thread onto regular 1/2" FNPT. Lead content is not an issue when used for draining a boiler, as it is not a potable application however Dahl does list it as NSF61 certified on their site.
