Description
–
Model RSD is a round single blade damper constructed from heavy (24) gauge galvanized steel. The 24 volt motor actuator is direct coupled to the drive shaft. It is power closed/spring open (standard). The damper can be field reversed to a power open/spring closed model. The RSD damper may be used with either flexible or rigid ductwork. The RSD has a double layered blade design with an integrated cellular foam gasket to provide a seal when the damper is in the closed position. The RSD also has a Travel Limiter to prevent the damper from closing 100% if your application requires.

Works as intended
Item showed up in good condition. Installed it 7-6-24. I bought this EWC type of damper because I already have a few of these, but square, already installed for my roof/ attic ventilation system. They've lasted for years and the little controller motors seem to be pretty durable. No problems on the other units and I've had them in for probably 8 years now. I knew these would be 24V AC and that is what my air handler puts out. The damper seals well. I feel no air coming out at the supply vent. I like these because it's a spring-open design and it's one less thing I have to design in with my controls.

I would buy this product again.
I used this fresh air intake for my wood stove. Works in conjunction with the blower motor for fresh air for combustion.

Should have bought the URD damper that motors both ways.
The motor gets pretty hot. recent literature cautions about this, but it is not posted on your web site. I should have went for the two-way damper with a relay. would have been much less power use, and less worry about overheating.
If I had read the current version of the product literature, I would not have purchased the spring return one.
