A little spendy but worth it.
Great product for making bends in tight spaces. I did have a hard time inserting into the male adapter side of the 3/8 copper on a Mitsubishi. It's super tight but it will go in with some twisting. No issues with the 1/4 size. Make sure you flare your fittings before inserting on your line sets. My apprentice just reamed out the copper and it did scratch the plastic tubes pretty bad. I would think any plastic particles left in the system could cause major problems. I attached a picture of two bends done by hand taped together for identical force and a test of the product. It still thins out on the bend with the tubing but didn't kink. You're still able to pull the tubing out without too much effort.

I purchased this mandrel set to make 90 degree bends on ductless mini-split linesets. I immediately noticed that the mandrels were too large in diameter to insert and make bends. Maybe if the mandrels were a few thousands of an inch smaller they might work as intended. Therefore, I went back to what I have done for years and cut off the flairs and used springs to safely make the bends. Too bad, I had high hopes that these would work.

Really helps with bending 5/8 tubing
The 5/8 worked really well. I did put a little refrigerant oil on the insert, which made removal MUCH easier. The 3/8" insert was a bit too tight for my particular lineset, but in hindsight that may have been because of how the lineset tubing was slightly crushed from the OE flaring operation.

I would recommend this product to any AC/HP installer.
When linesets have to be exposed it may be difficult to ensure that it is aesthetically pleasing. Using the liner benders ensures the lineset will look exactly how it's pictured in your mind. With the ability to handed bend specific lineset sizes to any degree, you can ensure the lineset looks pleasing to the eye. Ease of use and flexibility really make running linesets a game changer. It also prevents lines from kinking.

Easily the best purchase for a Mini Split Install
I installed a larger BTU mini split with 5/8 line and given the contortions required to make the line fit where it needed to go, I would have likely kinked it without this tool. The cost benefit for this was worth every penny!

Pretty much useless
Soft copper is pretty easy to bend into wide radii. These soft plastic mandrels don't really prevent kinking when trying to bend tight radii. They might be useful for someone that is afraid to bend wide turns. All that happens for tight turns is the mandrel gets pinched in the tubing and becomes incredibly difficult to remove.

Works as intended without any kinks.
Insert the plastic tube inside the copper, bend the furthest angle first, then pull out the plastic a little past the first bend, then bend again if needed. It works perfectly.
