Multidrain Position Rough-In Box

ended up not using it this time since I would have needed to perform extra work on the studs/wall. with the box being 3.5" deep, you really don't have much room for error on a 2x4 nominal wall. otherwise, if you are performing rough-in work I would actually suggest using this if you aren't doing 100% of the work. This box should protect your work from other tradesmen. price should probably be set ~35-38 to be honest. that's my biggest gripe.

We used 10 of these in a new construction. They are great at first but they create a big problem in high humidity areas. Using this box makes the drain line have a gap in it. In other words, you now have 2 drain lines. One that goes from the unit to the rough in box and another from the box to the discharge point, usually outside. So when the drain line clogs between the unit and the rough in box, it cannot be cleaned without pulling the unit away from the wall enough to detach it from the unit and clean it. Normally you can run a drain cleaner brush in at the discharge point and clean the entire drain. With this box, you can only clean to the box. All of my service calls are for clogs between the unit and the box. No more just applying suction to the outside drain and sucking the clog out because the drain isn't a continuous run. So a great product for the installer, terrible product for the property owner.
