The fans feature a plastic housing constructed of UL-recognized, UV protected thermoplastic resin. This tough protected shell allows the fan to be mounted in outdoor and wet locations. FR fans feature external rotor motors that have proven dependable year after year. Fan is fully caulked to prevent moisture from entering the housing.

Quiet and reliable
This replaces a 15 year old fan of the same model. The old one had just gotten noisy due to dust build up after years of use. Rather than try and clean it I decided to replace it and the duct work. This is a very quiet and powerful fan.

Rid Basement of Damp
Mounted fan in basement to overhead floor joists with a flexible aluminum hose fitted at one end to outdoors via exhaust vent & the other end to 4 corners of basement with "Y" connectors & galvanized elbows. Wrapped fan in fiberglass insulation to further quiet the fan.
The basement smells clean and the dehumidifier runs less frequently. Noticeable difference in 48 hrs.

German design American efficiency
I purchased and installed this fan as a duct booster for a hot air heating system. It installed easily following the included instructions. Only negative is the vibration that occurs when a speed controller is used to adjust output. I have not had this problem with 2 other Fantech fans.

I like this fan very much
This is by far the nicest exhaust fan in the house, I will be replacing all the others.
Is so quiet that you have to remember that is on, is great, good suction. I you follow the recommended installation instructions you will not have any regrets.
I let mine vent to attic since I have a very big attic and well ventilated and I'm using fan to vent a bathroom with very little moisture from shower, is mainly to replace air inside the bathroom.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffFan mounting can be at any point along the duct and in any angle, however, vertical mounting is recommended to reduce condensation buildup in the fan.

Q: Can the Fantech FR series be used reliably for Bathroom venting (i.e. high moisture (as opposed to Fantech's dedicated Bathroom line)? Thanks.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffYes, The FR series fans can be used for high moisture applications such as bathroom venting. It is recommended to use insulated flexible duct when routing the vent through uninsulated spaces to prevent condensation issues and to reduce unwanted noise.

Q: I am installing a Tri Zone Mini Split AC/heat pump system. I need to move cool/warm air from one room to another. Can this be used as a room to room vintalation fan from a 20x13 bedroom to a 10x10 bathroom?

That is exactly what I dd with this blower. Powered it through a proximity sensor to run the blower whenever someone enters the room - set the time on for a few minutes so that it would remain on when someone stepped into the shower. Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAlthough Fantech does not track the noise ratings of its fans, they are all 100% speed controllable through a decrease in the voltage by using a solid state or transformer type control.
