Very Quiet for a powerful fan.

Would have given 5 stars but white grill arrived slightly damaged and could be a little stronger plastic. Also I would have liked to have more connection room for connecting flex duct with silver HVAC tape. "Flanges" are about 1/2". 1" would be better for a taped connection. My application is for ventilating Nitrogen Gas as it comes out of a Cryotherapy Unit. When the door is opened after a session the liquid nitrogen is heavier than air and so a vent fan is required to try and remove some of the Nitrogen from the building so Oxygen levels don't get too low. This fan unit is mounted about 2-3' above the drop ceiling grid directly above the Cryo Chamber in a small commercial space with 9' ceilings. I was very worried it would be too loud. I used 6" flex duct that is supposedly sound deadening on both sides of fan. Maybe 6-8' of flex duct and that connects to about 12-15' of 6" Dia Metal duct pipe. The fan is amazingly quiet. Almost as quiet as a 50 CFM Panasonic bathroom fan so I was very pleased with it!

Great Fan - Could Be Better

Bought this to vent a "Cryotherapy Chamber" in a commercial setting. I was very concerned it would be too loud as I could only mount it 2-3' above a "drop ceiling grid" directly overhead of the unit it is venting. (Liquid Nitrogen Gas has to be vented outdoors for safety). Very surprised that it is very quiet. I plan to wrap a little insulation around to make it virtually silent! I would recommend and buy another one if needed. I would have liked to have an extra inch or so for connecting flex duct or metal pipe duct. On the outflow side you could use screws if using metal duct but there isn't much room to use Silver "HVAC" tape. The inlet side is also very minimal and I don't think you could use screws because they would most likely hit the impeller. Plastic electrical connection box is a little "cheasey". Metal would be better. These are minor "issues" and would not stop me from buying another one of these Fantech Units. I haven't seen anything better. (any product can be improved ) Saw a comment that Std. 6" metal duct work would not fit !? 1st thing I did when unboxed was try a Std. 6" round metal H Depot duct and it fit perfectly so....? Anyway most likely a person would use flex duct instead of metal duct.

#1 fan

I bought this fan to avoid venting out my roof or into my attic. It is 60 feet to the side of my ranch house from the bathroom which is where this fan vents too. Were a family of 6 and no matter if we all take a steaming hot shower one after another our 5x11 foot bathroom does not show the slightest bit of moisture on the mirror. This fan is amazing. And the ducting we used is all flex the entire way.

It's so quiet!

Great fan with good air movement. It's so quiet you can't hear it running. To tell it's working you have to hold a Kleenex there to see the suction.

PB190 Premium Bath Fan

Great product and fast shipping. The fan works great in our new bathroom remodel and you can barely hear it run only if nothing else is on. Contractor mounted it in the attic and vented it out through the chimney siding on the roof.

Exhaust Fropm the Top Would be Better

Unit installs easily. What would be better if the hookup for the flex duct was at the top of the box instead of the side. The side causes you to make a wide turn if venting to the left or right of the install.

Product Q&A

1 Question
1 Question
ASK A QUESTION

Q: I live in the Northeast. We get snow here, and sometimes a lot of snow. I am worrying about snow depth on my roof with a vent through the roof. Cosmetically I can have a typical roof vent that might be 4-6 inches high, but I do not want to see some monster vent cap that goes 12+ inches above the roof. How much heat will leak through the fan to help keep the snow around the vent melted. Any advice from others in snow county?

Usually not enough to melt snow, but you can also vent through a side wall.
