Works perfectly with my exhaust fan

I had to replace my 20+ year old cooktop exhaust fan (roof mount) and chose the Fantech REC8XL from SupplyHouse.com. My old rheostat switch didn't adjust the fan speed; so, I ordered the WC Series Variable Speed Control with On/Off Switch that was a match to the fan. Ordering in both cases was easy, shipping was fast and everything works as it should. Buying from these guys and the guarantees they provide takes all the worry out of the job. My only wish would be that I would have tested the speed control before I installed it. It works great but the fan could run just a little slower.

Works but makes fan motor hum loudly.

I bought this control because it was listed as compatible with the FR Series Fantech fan I produced. The controller varies the speed as advertised, but the electronic control causes the fan to produce a notable humming noise which isn't acceptable for my application. The humming noise does not vary with fan speed. If the fan is placed in an attic with runs of insulated flex duct between the inlet grille and the fan it might be OK. I would recommend using this type of electronic control with caution if you are in a noise-sensitive area.

I would definitely buy again

Bought this to replace a broken one, turned out to be more sturdy than the one that broke. Glad I searched the Supply House website first for the WC Serie Variable Speed Control. Fast Shipping was Awesome!!! Thank you

No

I was told this product would work for the particular fan i bought , but they failed to mention that when purchasing the fan any attempt to turn speed down would cause the motor to hum. So now i have an unhappy customer who has the expense of a ec motor and control plus labor . Thanks a lot

I would buy again

Works perfect on my nutone fan installed in 1980. Nutone-Broan don't make one that works for it anymore.

Met my needs. Eom

It's a variable speed control. I use it to control the speed of an exhaust fan. Works well.

Great fine adjustment

Using this speed control for a variable speed air handler. Works well and has a good fine adjustment screw for the low rpm setting. Fan has a slight hum when slowed but still reasonable.

Q: will this work with my ventless blower moter

Hi, I am not an expert but it depends if the blower motor is rated for a variable speed control. I quickly looked at fireplace vent less blowers and a lot of them come with a variable speed switches. This variable switch is rated at 5 amps, (600 watts) so the blower amp/watt rating cannot exceed the 5 amps. My guess is it should work as long as the motor amps do not exceed 5 amps.

Q: Is this compatible with an RVF6XL Exhaust Fan?

Yes, the variable controller has a 5amp limit. The fan mentioned is 1.5 amp and is fully controllable according to data sheet.

I have mine running a Fantech FG4XL so I'd assume it should work. It works great on mine!

Yes, it is. I used it on a Fantech 6" centrifugal fan mounted in the attic and it worked fine. The same type motor is used in the RVF6XL exhaust fan so it should work fine.

Will control the fan so long as the maximum opeating load is 110 - 120 volts and the fan does not draw more than 10 amps.
