The orifice is small
I don't want to use this on my sump pump because the size of the opening the water goes through inside the fitting is less than an inch. The sump pump instructions say specifically NOT to put on a fitting or pipe that is smaller than the pump's output size. It just seems like a bad idea.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThis sump pump coupling check valve can connect with either 1-1/4" OR 1-1/2" drain pipe on CV-125T, CV-150T and CV-150 model sump pumps. The measurements are 1-1/2" male pipe thread x 1-1/2" or 1-1/4".
