11V-R Gar-Ber Spin-On Fuel Oil Filter

unable to loosen the nut so i can air out the line, makes this product defective

My boiler came with a Gar-Ber spin on oil filter that the mechanic replaced every year at maintenance. And every year it leaked oil through the filter's outer seal and dripped all over the filter and onto the floor. I figured there was damage to the head, so I bought a new head with the filter. The new one leaked, too, just the same way!

The filter to head connection has leaked oil for the past few years - the old part was also Gar-Ber. As the oil take got lower, the pump started sucking in air, causing the burner to lock out. The new Gar-Ber head does not leak. No oil out, no air in. Problem solved.

Everything needed was in the box except oil resistant thread sealant. Worked out great, a month later not leaking a drop from anywhere and I can quickly replace filters as needed.
