Description

Note: Grundfos Scala pumps are covered by warranty for 24 months from the date of installation or 30 months from the date of manufacture.
With the new GRUNDFOS SCALA2 water booster pump, perfect water pressure is finally available in an all-in-one unit. Now you can enjoy the luxury of a perfectly comfortable shower any time of day – even when your family is using the many other taps in your home, for instance in the bathroom, the kitchen and the garden. And the SCALA2 is so compact and quiet, you won’t even know it’s there.

SCALA2 comes equipped with intelligent pump control, which means that it automatically adjusts operation to deliver the water pressure you like. The integrated sensor detects if the inlet pressure varies or if there are several taps open and immediately tells the pump to boost the pressure. And it happens so fast that you won’t notice any change in your water pressure at all

Great so far

We use the pump to pull water from our rainwater catchment tanks that sit about 15' below the house so it's a primary pump application. We have a 2-story house and the pump sits below the house in our basement. It provides good water pressure and it's got a few key advantages over the Grundfos MQ-3 that it's replaced. It's much quieter, uses 1/2 the power, and is constant pressure, so when someone's in the shower and a toilet is flushed, the shower flow is constant. Also love that the pressure is adjustable. We've only had it operational for about 2 weeks, so too soon to say about the leakage problems others have reported

This is a terrible product

Supply House has really taken care of me with warranty support, but I have had 3 of these pumps fail in a short time period. None of them made it through the 2 year warranty period. One of the pumps had a leaking shaft seal which is a common problem. Grundfos said to just wait for a while and it would stop leaking. But it never stopped leaking and after almost 2 years the electronics died. The other 2 pumps also died after electronic failures. Pump #4 that I just got had a new sticker on it that seems to indicate that you should not run the pump over 50% for the first year? That's crazy! I paid full price for the pump but can only use half of it? I think the problem is the logic in the pump is not smart enough to shut off when it reaches target pressure. It keeps running for a long time after a faucet is shut off. It finally wears itself out and it wastes a lot of electricity in the process. When this pump fails I am switching to Davey.

I would and will buy this product again

Used in a commercial building where two bathrooms are used infrequently. Replaced duplex system and actually works better for this application.
