The Grundfos ALPHA2 26-99 is a medium sized, energy efficiency circulator fitted with a permanent magnet motor (ECM) and frequency converter. Featuring eight different operating modes including constant pressure AUTOADAPT and proportional pressure AUTOADAPT, the ALPHA2 26-99 is the perfect fit for any heating application.
AUTOADAPT functionality enables the ALPHA2 26-99 to control operation automatically within a defined performance range. When set in proportional pressure AUTOADAPT or constant pressure AUTOADAPT, the pump will automatically analyze the heating system, find the optimum system curve and duty point and continue to adjust its operation to changes in demand. A magnetite resistant design, robust ceramic shaft and stainless-steel bearing plate ensure that the ALPHA2 26-99 reliably delivers the optimal system flow at the lowest possible energy consumption.

A bit disappointed
After recently installing several Taco ECM pumps, this unit seems noisier, doesn't have bolt indentations on the mounting flanges, and has a very poorly designed wiring junction box. It does seem to function fine though.

Very high quality medium smart pump
Used this product on a zone with 5-port manifold for staple-up radiant floor. I found that the 5-port manifold, combined with the total length of each circuit's tubing had too much head loss for a smaller 15-55f alpha2 to move water at a reasonable velocity. This pump can do it though. Flows were dramatically improved, aproaching >3/4 GPM flow through each circuit. This also reduced the ΔT across the zone, giving better comfort.
I like that it has two auto-adapt modes. For applications with higher head, this is the pump to get, especially for those interested in the energy saving or performance of an auto adapting pump.
