- Lubricates as it forms a tight pressure seal
- Inhibits rust and corrosion.
Wipes clean from hands - Withstands air/steam pressure to 200 psi and liquid pressure to 250 psi at temperatures ranging from 0° F to 350° F
- NOT FOR LP GAS
- Not for use on plastic pipe or fittings
- Certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 61, safe for drinking water lines

Essential for brass fiting tightness with no leaks
Pipe dope is absolutely essential to a tight fit up of brass fittings. This seems more so than when fittings were made in USA for some reason! This pipe dope works really well, is easy to apply. A bit messy but that is the appliers only problem for good results. Great product. Great SupplyHouse response to orders.

Terrible
Had close piping on a lower pressure well all done withe pro dope, all brass fittings, 4 days after project completion nearly every joint started to leak

How have i not seen this before. Great Product!
I am angry with myself for not catching this product earlier. I bought some for a project and the PM can't stop raving about it. I then gave some to another technician who said this was better than any other PVC glue he has used.

Avoid at all costs
I used this for some valving on a 3 boiler installation, about 80% of every threaded connection leaked when all were properly tightened

Pro Dope + Megatape = No Leaks
I've never had a leak using Hercules Pro Dope and Hercules Megatape. Cleans up better than other dopes, applies better than other, and looks most professional with black pipe. Would replace my other dopes if approved for Propane, not being able to use with propane is only negative.

Pro dope or thread sealant will work on metallic and non metallic threads in a plumbing loop. Your question is a little vagu I don't know how and where you want to use the dope. The dope must be sealing threaded connections. JD
