The best sealer I've found for problematic joints..

This is what I started to use when other thread dope failed. If you can't get a leak free seal with this product, it's most likely due to defective threads or a defective plumber. This is also specified as a gasket sealer, where a 5-min "set up" period is instructed. Similarly you can let its solvent flash off for 5min (or longer) when used as a thread sealer on problematic joints to increase viscosity/density. It never does get hard and brittle like other dope and dribbles I've found months later are still tacky and somewhat rubbery. My only regret is I didn't find this stuff sooner. About the only negative is the fact this is extremely tenacious and without some care will get EVERYWHERE. Isopropyl alcohol cleans it up well (as it's a component of this product). Keep a sprayer of the highest concentration 91% drug store isopropyl on hand along with disposable wipes and the mess can be easily kept in check.

It does the job I guess. But man... it'll stain everything.

We used this on about 8 joints. We haven't pressurized the system yet so I'll know soon if it works. What I do know for sure is that it's messy. I read all the reviews and I just figured I'll be more careful. Easy! But nope... it still gets everywhere. It's like black tar maple syrup. lol

The best pipe dope there is...

This is the best dope I've ever used. Seals up great. **It can be messy to use if you're not careful... just take your time and wear gloves.**

Thick

Good sealant. Spreads nicely. Sticky. Bonds well with arm hair.

it works but can be messy.

I have been using this for a little bit now and it seems to do its job. I have not had any leaks using this stuff. my only complaint is that it is a little runny, and it can get away from you and drip on what you are working on and make a royal mess. I have found denatured alcohol cleans it up well.

A good alternative to the Ole Permatex

This is very much like the old permatex. When things would leak and nothing else would work we would break out the permatex and that would do it. But we had a rule that the can had to be throne away after Avery use because this stuff gets on everything, everywhere, and everyone after it's been opened. This is good stuff I use it with oil lines, if you take care in closing the lid it dosnt get on everything but I would use gloves, and store it separately.

Works great

Does get a little messy but comes off with rubbing alcohol easily as long as you get to it kinda quick. Black looks good on schedule 80 in some cases I still needed T-tape
