Description

Honeywell Whole-House Dehumidifiers are designed to help maintain proper humidity levels in the home. Lower humidity levels feel more comfortable, and helps safeguard against problems from excess moisture in the home such as mold, mildew, warped wood, peeling of paint, or musty odors. Honeywell Whole Home Dehumidification Systems are Energy Star rated, providing efficient and economical operation.

Dehumidification
The Honeywell DR65A3000 dehumidifier utilizes refrigeration and internal air circulation to cool the incoming air stream below its dew point. Water condenses and drains off the coil, sending drier air back into the house.
  • Can remove up to 65 pints/day of moisture.
  • Energy Star rated
  • Integrated set and forget humidistat
  • Side ducted exhaust
  • Reduced noise during operation
  • MERV 11 air filtration
Ventilation
The Honeywell DR65A3000 has a separate control for ventilation, so the powerful onboard blower can be used to efficiently bring fresh air into the house even when dehumidification is not needed.

Simplified Wiring
The Honeywell DR65A3000 has an onboard dehumidistat that allows the unit to run without any additional wiring. In addition, Honeywell dehumidifiers can be controlled by a variety of 24-volt remote wired and wireless controls.

The DR65A3000 allows the use of a 24V normally closed float switch or water sensor to simplify installation in a drain pan. This will allow the external float switch to kill power to the compressor in the event of water blockage.

Works great

Installed DR65 using 8" flex from/to a HVAC return chase. I run the HVAC fan at all times to equalize the temp so no need for an interface with the HVAC thermostat. Drained it into the HVAC sewer drain using clear tubing with a loop acting as a P-trap. Used Aquaguard AG-1250E electronic water sensor in the custom-built drain pan. Very quiet with the flex duct attached. TN is just getting humid enough for a valid test. Presently, DR65 puts out a "pulse" of condensate about every five seconds. Seems to be doing a great job but the real test will be during a TN summer. Primary use is to keep the humidity down allowing the HVAC temp to be set to a higher (warmer) A/C temp. Hoping for a higher and drier house temp this summer. Last summer we had to set the HVAC temp colder in order to limit the humidity.

Poor quality.

I purchased this dehumidifier thru Supply House. The evaporator cracked and leaked refrigerant after 1 year of use. Supply House was great about honoring the warranty and sent me a new one. The drain line broke and the power supply failed on the replacement unit. I used the replacement for less than a month before it stopped powering up. I have had HVAC repair personnel look at both, and they all say to call Honeywell, which is not a great experience. I think this reflects poorly on Honeywell not Supply House. I had purchased one of the Honeywell TrueSteam humidifiers thru Supply House and had nothing but issues with it as well. The Honeywell thermostat I have works great. Stay away from Honeywell HVAC appliances if you want headache free operation. I plan to try an Aprilaire humdifier soon, and will purchase thru Supply House.

Short life span

The original unit was installed by a licenced hvac contractor. It didn't last five years. The replacement unit quit just short of 4 years. Unfortunately, the warranty on the replacement unit is only the remaining warranty on the original unit. Apparently Honeywell doesn't expect them to last five years. Fortunately, however, it appears Honeywell discontinued this model.

Will not last

I installed my 1st Honeywell DR65 in July 2020 in Minnesota where the season to run a dehumidifier starts in April and is over by September (6 months a year). That 1st unit leaked its refrigerant in the spring of 2023. Trying to work with Resideo to get a warranty replacement unit was an exhausting and long process but a replacement arrived at the end of the 2023 season. The replacement was installed and ready for the 2024 seasons but leaked its refrigerant in early May 2025. These units are considered non-serviceable and once the refrigerant leaks they are junk - and they are not cheap. I basically got 7 month of service out of my 2nd Honeywell DR65. This is an outrageous embarrassment for any brand!

Works well

House with central air in Florida with indoor humidity averaging 70%. Installed this as a stand alone device. Chose this model because it has a higher operating temperature than the others, It hangs in the hot garage so I don't have to hear it running. Insulated flex duct routed into the attic and connected to ceiling vents in the house. Finished install early evening, house at 72% humidity. Turned unit on and woke up to 55% humidity right where I had the humidity controller set. House is 1900 sq feet.

Won't last

Bought 2 of these in the last 4 years. Was good until it broke. Will not last. Breaks usually after the warranty is up.

I will buy this product again!

It was a great fit for replacing the older NLA model. The price was good and the delivery was received in a timely matter.

DO NOT BUY FOR LONG TERM

As many others have stated. This product will last for about 2 years of consistent use. I have learned through the school of hard knocks. Let my loss be your gain. Go for a different option that Honeywell.

Works great, but only for about 2 years...

I've had two of these Honeywell whole house dehumidifiers. When working they are quiet and efficient. However each only lasted about two years of service. Honeywell's customer service is terrible. I tried to replace my first unit after it failed around the two year mark and was still within the warranty period. Honeywell just gave me the runaround and basically blamed me for the failure. I got another as my HVAC system was already set up for it but that unit also failed after about two years. I am definitely not using Honeywell for its replacement and cannot recommend them.

I would NEVER buy this product

I have had two of these units fail in less than two years. The manufacturer (Resideo/Honeywell) will not honor the warranty. Both units developed refrigerant leaks with the first year of service. These units are made in china and the buyer should not be fooled by the Honeywell name: this is not the Honeywell that your father and grandfather grew up with: its junk.

Not buy this product again but would definitely buy from SH

I am on my 3rd dehumidifier during the warranty period. Honeywell is not pleasant to deal with but Supply House has been great. This dehumidifier is not cheap so i am not sure why it has so many issues.

Not its not, the chlorine will eat the unit.

Q: My contractor is proposing this as a stand-alone dehumidifier for an unfinished basement (about 1500 sf), so it would not be connected to the HVAC duct. But this appears to be a unit designed to be ducted.

No, the air is returned to the home with a slightly higher temperature then before it entered the unit. The unit does not provide cooling, only removal of excess humidity.
