ICM's 1500 Series Intermittent Ignition Oil Primary Controls come standard with patented energy transfer technology that ensures the fuel valve and pump will only be energized if the control is functioning properly. Features a solid state flame sensing circuit, LED to indicate system lockout, an enclosed safety switch and an external reset button. Direct replacement for popular competitive models.

Works as it should, but for a lot less money
Installation was easy. A bit of a delay after signal from thermostat, but not a big deal once I realized it. The reset button doesn't pop up like the Honeywell that was on the burner, but an indicator light comes on instead. The red button still has to be pushed down to reset, but it only has a little detent feel to it with a little click, and, you have to hold it down for about 5 seconds... not the 3 seconds it says in the instructions. I thought it didn't work until I figured out all of the intricacies with it. Overall, it works well. The best part is it's a lot cheaper than the Honeywell I was initially going to purchase, but still made in the USA.

No this control fail on start up
It appears there in a built in short in the controler, when a load is applied it fails, not sure how it fails the burner would start for less then a second, when the power was cycled it would do the same. I replaced the controller and the burner worked well.

Problem Solved
This winter my oil furnace wasn't performing well. For 4 months the fan would run, but no heat until after 5 to 10 minutes, then the furnace would finally kick on. In December of 2025 I replaced the temperature limit switch, believing that was the problem, but no change in performance. In February 2026, I purchased this Oil Ignition Primary Control (fast shipping), installed it, and now the furnace runs perfectly, cycling 3-4 times per hour. This control is an exact replacement for the original Honeywell. I really like that this control is an American made product since all the other similar controls, selling on the internet, are inexpensive foreign made and only a few dollars less.
