Robert's Reviews Keep the tub drain from getting clogged
Regarding clogged drains I will first say I am not a fan of and do not use/recommend chemicals to unclog a drain. Snake it to get it unclogged. If you want to keep it unclogged, in my mind you have to make a fundamental decision: do you want to be able to fill the tub and take a bath in it. If you do find taking a bath is desirable, and many people do I mean it is a bathtub, then skip this review.
But I find that most people now take showers in their bathtubs and do not in fact take many actual baths. If you fall in to this category, then the easiest way to do this is to remove the trip lever mechanism that and replace that with just a dummy cover where the lever used to be. For the drain, unscrew it and use this one.
Why use this one? What makes it better than the other one. Why not just buy a screen cover and install it into the existing drain. You can and that is the easiest. But you will find that your existing tub drain may, or may not be threaded so you can in fact screw the cover down. It may or may not be of the correct screw size that came with you screen cover (hint probably will not). So if you are with me so far and are in the market for this kind of thing, easiest way is buy this complete setup, see if the screen cover that comes with it will fit the existing, and if not install the rest of the new drain.
