Don't get the M12
Had the M12 fuel vacuum and it wasn't enough. The battery life is vastly superior and the suction is great. Solid portable vacuum for HVAC.

Nice Vacuum with a few qualifications
I love the fact that the vacuum works with my M18 batteries. The battery compartment fits my largest battery pack (HD12.0). That being said it is a bit trickly to compress the battery release tabs and pull the heavy battery out of the vacuum. Not a "deal-breaker" but it would be nice to have a bit more finger clearance for those of us without "dainty" fingers. The suction is reasonably good. My first use was to capture dust and debris when drilling 3/4 inch holes in masonry. The vacuum worked well for the job and other clean-up. A good portable shop-vac but don't expect the capabilities of a good roll-around 115V shop-vac. My only real concern on this vacuum is the latching system that connects the motor section to the collection bin. I caught the bin retaining latch on pant leg and the latch opened, spilling the contents of the bin. I can't be certain that I had the bottom positioned properly and the latch fully secure before the "dump", but the design could be better. The bin (that will be full of whatever you vacuumed up) is not very rigid at the top so it takes some care to properly align the bin with the motor portion. I would expect a more robust design for a true workman's tool. Overall, seems like a good addition to my "kit" but the jury is still out.
