I would probably buy again if needed
Decided to add this as I was fixing a 28 year old drain problem for my utility tub and washer that allowed my septic to back up into house. Was not sure how drain was connected to rest of system and was a 4" pvc coupling at the floor with just a sponge plugging the open area around utility drain. Was very easy to install

Perfect solution
We used this on a garage wash-up sink. It is the perfect solution to avoid having to vent the sink via a vent pipe. Oatey products are always well-made and this one is, too. It is a screw-on design, so if it ever wears out, it will be easy to replace.

Q: What is the difference between this valve and 20 DFU Sure-Vent Air Admittance Valve w/ 1-1/2" PVC Schedule 40 Adapter SKU: 39005-OATEY ?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffHi Mickey. The 39017 is actually 160 DFU rather than 20 DFU, so we will get that updated on the website ASAP. Also, the 39017 comes with a 1-1/2" x 2" PVC adapter, whereas the 39005 comes with a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" PVC adapter.
