The Honeywell AM-1 series accurately adjusts, maintains and limits the hot water temperature to a desired setting selected by the user. By installing a Honeywell AM-1 mixing valve and raising water heater storage temperature setting and limiting mixed outlet water temperature to safe temperature more usable hot water is available. In heating applications it provides comfort and protects the equipment. Multiple applications include heat pump systems, nursing homes, public facilities, automatic faucets, radiant floor heating, space heating, combo systems, solar hot water, greenhouses, and industrial applications.

Item works as expected
One issue I had is something as simple as using the adjusting knob. You need to loosen a screw just to adjust the water temp.This screw is covered by a sticker so who woulda thunk it?? I proceeded to force it which makes a clicking sound which makes you think its broke outa the box. I then took the valve apart to investigate and eventually figured it out. Then I read the instructions. Ok I am a fool but do you read the instructions to push the gas pedal on a car. Over engineered but it is a nice item and I have heat and it does adjust!

Works as advertised
I use this mixing valve for slab on grade radiant. Responds immediately to dialed in temperature settings. Temperature stability good. Supplied temperature indicator strip assures quick and accurate setup.

Q: Why does it say heating only? Can i use this to regulate my domestic hot water output from hot water tank that is heated via my wood boiler system?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffWe would not recommend it. This valve is not lead-free, it is not approved for use with potable water, and it does not meet the precision and safety standards that you would want to prevent scalding.
