The Honeywell L4006E1067 is temperature limiting aquastat controller that is manually reset. It is designed for high limit applications and has a temperature range of 130 to 270 degrees F. It is used for controlling the temperature in boilers, storage tanks and other hydronic applications where control of liquid temperature is desired.

- Remote bulb model may be used to sense air temperature in ducts and in outside air sensing applications.

Q: i own one of these on my boiler and i am trying to trouble shoot a problem where my boiler will not allow hot water to flow heat my house---how can we test to see if this device has failed an needs to be replaced? my reset button looks crooked (similarly crooked to the one shown in this display picture here) Is that normal? Also, when i push in the reset button, there is no horizontal movement possible on that button/no movement....i can't seem to "reset" or make use of the reset button. Is there a troubleshooting flow chart for any of these issues? or do i need a new one....and if so, would i need to replace the well too or use the existing? thank you

In a word, NO. This is an insertion type and should be used with an insertion well. The strap on model is similar but has a block and foam cushion assembly on the back along with a couple clamps. Far better to use proper part rather than a kluge deal.
