- Mechanical Heat Backup This thermostat includes a bimetal switch that will automatically turn on the Heat when the temperature reaches about 41ºF (5ºC). WARNING: This switch only activates the heating terminal (W). The system itself must be capable of automatically turning the fan on. Without normal fan operation, severe damage to the heating system could result.
- Adjustable differential - thermostat is set at the factory to cycle at 2ºF (1ºC) above and below the set temperature (DIFF = 2). This setting has been designed to provide a comfortable room temperature under most conditions. However, if you find your system cycling too fast or too slow, then the DIFF can be adjusted to modify the cycle time.

Digital Non-Programmable Thermostat
I recently ordered a Digital Non-Programmable Thermostat SKU: RS2110 Brand: Robertshaw. The initial product was defective and I immediately notified the Supply House and shipped it back with the label emailed by Supply House. They shipped and within a week I received a replacement which after installed worked as specified.

I would not buy this product again.
Bought it to serve as a thermostat for our boiler. When it arrived, it could not be opened without using unreasonable force. It was replaced, and the replacement had the same issue. Got it opened, and decided to keep it, and use it. It does an extremely poor job at controlling the heat. There is excessive damping of the temperature sensor, resulting in heat in the room ranging a full five degrees, no matter how tight the deadband is set at.

Directions said not to pry open. After a half hr, HAD to. Did not end up using it.

I plan to order another exactly the same.
This thermostat controls the temperature for my upstairs air conditioner. I had my air conditioner technician do the installation. H said it was no problem. I plan to order a like unit for my down stairs system.

I bought this identical thermostat 6 years back and I bought another for backup for fear it might be discontinued! My Carrier AC is over 50 years old and I am able to set the differential to prevent short cycles allowing time for the compressor to cool down etc.
