Design certified to ANSI/NSF-61 product standard for use in potable water systems. No loose components, integrated design. Approved to be used underground and behind walls without access panels. Designed for hydronic heating as well as potable water distribution. Designed certified to IGC 188. Listed by IAPMO and are certified for potable and hydronic heating water distribution. Certified for underground applications and as a manufactured joint without access panels and they meet UPC, IPC, and cUPC requirements.

Definitely worth the money
I am remodel our home & much cpvc which is drying out & cracking. I am changing over to Pex & using Sharkbite fittings. In tight areas where you can't get your hand in (I wear 2XL gloves)you can take off & reposition fittings 1 handed while you hold everything else out of the way. 1 or 2 uses like that in very tight places, it is definitely worth the price.

Not as Pictured
I already had 2 of these and saw the one in the picture (which had a wider surface on the thongs) and thought they had fixed a small flaw. Upon receiving it is the same as the older ones I had already.

This is much easier to use than the old C washers but, could be better. If the spring hinge was farther apart it would give more leverage.
