Description

Note: A SBTL35 Insert is required when making a 1-1/4" connection to PEX. This insert is sold separately. The 1" insert is included with this Sharkbite fitting, but can be removed if a 1" PEX connection is not being made.

Underground burial of SharkBite brass fittings requires that the fitting be wrapped using silicone wrap (25406A).

These large-diameter (1-1/4 in. up to 2 in.) reducing couplings make it easy to reduce varying sizes of Copper, PEX, CPVC, PE-RT or SRD9 HDPE pipe in commercial and residential applications for potable water, hydronic heating, chilled water and general water distribution for irrigation.

Features:
  • Quick Connect & Disconnect
  • SAFE-Recessed Release Collar
  • Easy Installation
  • Provides Piping Support Against Lateral Pipe Forces
  • Lead Free DZR Brass Material
  • Environmentally Friendly

Easy transition from copper to pex

Used to replace a section of copper pipe (1 1/4") with 1 1/2" pex. This coupling made a quick and easy transition.

best press on reducing coupler

I have tried several brands and versions, and this one is SHarkBITE's second generation of this size. Its the one with the black ring at the 1.25" end. Have been using this one for over 1 years on a residential water application with pressures up to 90 PSIG and has not experienced any problems. I do recommend buying the plastic release tool for both ends.

Yes

I was skeptical, but easy fit and no leaks. Make sure you use stiffener on the HDPE pipe.
