Sioux Chief 650 Series piston-type water hammer arresters shall be
required in piping systems. Water hammer arresters shall have sufficient
volume of air to dissipate the calculated kinetic energy generated in the
piping system. Arresters shall be effective when installed at any angle.
Arresters shall be approved for installation with no access panel required.
Water hammer arresters shall be ANSI/ASSE 1010 2004 certified.
Arresters shall be sized and placed per manufacturer’s instructions.

- Lifetime cycle tested at U.S. Testing Laboratories to withstand 10,000 shock cycles. Factory tested to withstand 500,000 cycles without failure (654-C tested)
- Hydra-Rester male sweat fittings are compatible with press-fitting systems, such as Viega ProPress and all push-fitting systems such as Cash Acme SharkBite®
- Allows for installation in 2 × 4 wall cavity
- Installs at any angle
- ASSE 1010 certified as a water hammer arrester that is designed to provide continuous protection, without maintenance? allowing the Hydra-Rester to be installed without access panels
- All Hydra-Resters are made from no-lead components and are California AB 1953 compliant
- FBC system compatible

Great product for every home.
In my 3000sqft home the polular Mini-Rester was not sufficient. I had it replaced by the Hydra-Rester which works great! No more "pipe hammer" problems.

I may try another
Worked great when first installed but it has failed after 6 months. I removed it then reinstalled same one (threaded unit) and it worked again but not for long. I think water is getting past the seals and by removing it, the water leaked back out allowing it to work temporarily. These are designed for behind the wall, so glad my installation is not behind a wall! If this is a one off failure then I recommend this as it works well when it works.

Takes the shock out of plumbing
This replaced an off-the-shelf, big-box store item, which wasn't handling the load of a three-hose water timer graciously. This is a larger-volume unit, which immediately solved the shock problem, It may may even have put a few seismologists out of work, however. The threads on this part sealed much more readily than the big-box part, as well. Look to "The Chief" to cure your plumbing ills.

Water hammer problem resolved
I have a garden hose water timer that waters four zones twice a day. The water hammer noise with each shutoff was severe. I first tried a less expensive AA size hammer arrester, and it made no difference. I just installed this A-size unit (using a 1/2" NPT Tee and two 1/2 NPT male to garden hose fittings) and the shutoff is absolutely silent. What a wonderful difference.
