Description

Note: This unit cannot function using the back up electric heating element only. The unit must be installed as designed, without sole connection to backup elements.

Accelera heat pump water heaters save up to 80% of hot water costs because they extract heat to make hot water from energy in the air. The heat pump draws less energy than a toaster while it is running and making hot water. In warm climates, Accelera can be placed in a garage, where it uses the heat from the outside air; or inside the house, where it helps with air conditioning. In cooler climates, it is typically placed in a basement where it also dehumidifies the air. Our heat pump water heaters have been the largest seller in Germany for 40 years, evidence that our engineering excellence and high-quality manufacturing results in products fulfilling the highest expectations of performance and reliability.

  • Designed to provide comfort plus lowest possible energy costs

I would definitely recommend the Stiebel Accelera

3 weeks after installation and so far we are extremely happy with the Stiebel Accelera water heater! For a family of four, it has produced plenty of hot water. Living in Chicago, one of the potential concerns purchasing a heat pump water heater was whether it would be able to adequately heat sufficient quantities of water quickly enough in the winter. One of the features that I really like about the Stiebel is the setting that allows the user to control the percentage of water heat loss until the heater kicks in.For example, I set ours to 90% so that the heater heats more frequently, not allowing the water temperature to cool as much. So far running low of hot water hasn't been a problem! The other concern I read about was the noise of the vent fan, but this also hasn't been an issue. The water heater does produce more cold air after it passes thru the heat exchanger than I expected, but as it is located in a utility room with our furnace so the cooler air from the exhaust helps offset the normally warm furnace room.

Check out my YouTube channel for the full review

So this is the third heat pump water heater I've owned at my house. You can watch my video "Ultimate Real World Test of 3 Heat Pump Water Heaters" on YouTube for the full details, but I can safely say the Stiebel Eltron Accelera is by far the best of the three I've owned. The best part of it is the consistency with which it can deliver hot water, even in winter months when the incoming water temperature is cold. You'll need to read the manual and adjust the "reload factor" up to at least 80, but when you do it works very well. My main complaint about it is that the menu system is not at all intuitive to use. Again, read the manual. But as long as you do and your usage needs are moderate (3 or fewer people in the house), this is a great option. If you have more people, get the 80 gallon unit.

The best Heat Pump Water Heater on the market

This is the 3 one I installed all of them are programmed that it only run on heat pump mode only. There is 3 adults in the house and it never ran out of hot water and it set at 125F. It sound almost like a dehumidifier running but quieter. It will remove moister out from you air like a dehumidifier does and heat your water at the same time. It used about 650 watts or so on heat pump mode. And it booster has to kick in the total of 2150W . Your hybrids can used up to 4500 watts of more with the booster on. And it uses Condenser block wrapped around the tank not just tubing like the hybrids do. And they been make heat pumps for over 40 years. So it well worth the money.

Solid quality built unit

Unit has been installed for a month now and I'm very happy with it. I installed it in the basement beneath our living room and one can't hear it run upstairs, I'd say it's slightly louder than a refrigerator. I programmed it so it would run on heat pump mode only. There are 3 adults in our house and we haven't had an issue with available hot water as of yet, I have it set to 127 F.
