Q: Hello, I have some questions before I purchase this product. I was about to replace my electric baseboard heaters until I came across this option. My first question is about effectiveness and would these mats preform good enough to be my primary source of heat? How many Mats would you need per room under each floor? Do you skip every other joist or would one be sufficient? Do you use Line Voltage thermostat's like electric baseboard heaters? If so, do you sell contractors packs, as I need 6+ to finish. I purchased 2 with my last Pex order. I am open to suggestions as I am interested in changing out my heating system. I live in PA so I know mini splits will not work very good because of the cold environment. Thanks for your help

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffUsually, depending on the climate in your area, you will need another source of heat. The mats are generally used as a secondary heating source. It would depend on the size of the room and heat loss to determine how many mats would be needed. The mats are 120V so a line voltage thermostat is needed. The TL8230A1003 line voltage thermostats are sold in packs of 5.
