SureSeal Model SS2009V 2" Inline Floor Drain Trap Seal. Commercial grade UV and Ozone resistant ABS plastic housing with
proprietary EPDM rubber diaphragm and soft rubber sealing gasket. Floor rating ASSE - 1072 AF-GW.
Installed into the outlet of drain bodies, drain strainers, or drain hubs to protect the trap seal from evaporation. Creates a physical barrier that blocks sewer gases and their odors from escaping. Provides waterless trap seal protection equivalent to water based trap primers.

saved a basement that had no trap in the drain
There was no trap in the floor drain so an expansion plug had been installed. When the homeowner was not home to remove the plug during a rain storm the entire basement was flooded. When I removed the drain plug and installed the Sure Seal the basement drained immediately. Now there is no sewer gas and the water that enters the basement drains out.
Installation was simple--just remove the 1 1/2 inch drain plug and push the Sure Seal into place. I stepped on it to make sure it was completely seated.

Would not buy this product again
Seal was very ineffective. Ended up not using the product. Had to replace with a ball type back flow device. Like what was originally installed but I the original was very difficult to remove and small chance that concrete could be damaged Was looking for easier method, using the SureSeal, but it did not work

Not all I was hoping for.
Pros: Fits well, reduces the smell.
Cons: VERY restrictive on water flow, way more than I would like to see.
If you are going to need the drain to work well when / if needed I would recommend not using these unfortunately.

No more flys!!
Customer has a crack in the basement drain line and didn't have the money to dig up and repair it. They were getting sewer flys up through drain in till we install the seal in there existing floor drain. Help solve fly issue till they can make proper repair

Fits perfectly, solved my stinky shower shower
Great solution for my shower drain. Remodel was performed on a guest shower and apparently they forgot the p trap (or installed the wrong one). Bought this, installed, and tested shower. No smell anymore and water drains with no issue. Highly recommend.

Easy fix
I finished off a new shower in my basement and after all the tile was in i found out when they roughed in the shower they never installed a p trap. This was a perfect fix. I have no more smell problems.

Nope , didn't work as expected
Sure seal fitted perfectly, unfortunately the seal flapper didn't open as easy to let water flow down which cause water to back up in shower. Also it did not prevent odor smell from drain which is still present. So frustrating.

Life saver
Every time we used the ensuite bathroom, sewer gases would come through the guest shower drain. Thats not only embarrassing if we had guests but the smell filled the hallway. After getting quotes of over $3k to fix th issue, I decided to search the internets for better solution and found this product. It works!! No more sewer smells in the house!!!

Great idea!
I used this in a 2" Zurn floor drain. Easy push in place. It really works well. Just a drop or two of water and the flap opens. Otherwise it is closed preventing the trap from drying out. Time will tell if it is long lasting. I would recommend this product.
