Easy 5 minute way to fix a stuck pump
Used in primary loop on an ULTRA 230 boiler, which is backup/vacation system (wood heater is main heat). Would give it a 5 for ease of install...,but they only last 1 winter. Boiler has pump exercise routine for off season, but this pump is always stuck by the next winter. Warranty is excellent, so is the service..I usually have a new one the next day for free.
Secondary loop has a Taco 0015, no problem for 3 years.

Should have bought a whole new motor
Ends up the cartridge in the old motor developed a leak into the electrical windings. I thought the leak was from the gasket. I replaced the cartridge and the motor still did not run.
Also the flange on the cartridge was bent and did not fit properly. I had to bend the flange until it was flat and fit into the recess where the impeller goes. Seems that there was a cardboard sleeve in the box that was suppose to protect the flange. The sleeve was just loose in the box.
Great idea having a cartridge, with all the water lubricated spinning parts, you can replace but it did not work in my case.

Taco Pump Replacement Cartridge TAC0014-004RP (for 0014F)
this a straight replacement cartridge it takes about 15 mins to swap out i would suggest getting two as they are a important item in your heating system and they usually need replaced in the winter when they are at high usage.
