Exactly what you'd expect of Taco

Built like a tank and eays to install. If it's like every other Taco product I have in my heating system, it should outlast me. The fast-fill lever is a great feature, but be careful with it. I locked everything down while the lever was set to the 'open' position and inadvertently ended up testing my boiler's pressure relief valve. I did end up using a pressure setting lower than factory, but that will vary from system to system, and the setting is very easy to adjust.

valve

I was upset that a shipping charge was applied. I contact customer service and mentioned that other companies had free shipping. She was not able to honor. Oh well.

Excellent OEM quality

My pressure reducing valve became inoperable. It would not allow water to enter the boiler. The control lever was stuck in the closed position. Luckily, The Supply House had this item in stock and delivered it the next day. Easy to replace. I'm up and running again!

Must Need Fix

Just before the cold weather hits I usually service the boiler, after replacing the filter, nozzle and setting the point and assembling everything back together, a leek starter on the valve housing had to shut everything off and drain the water out then the hunt for a replacement and I remember supply house i ordered the valve came a day later installed it and filled the boiler back up and started it up no more leaks as if the boiler was brand new.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: does this valve have anything to do with water pressure throughout the house, for instance the shower?

Asked by Alex 10 years ago

This device is typically used to feed water into a heating system whenever the pressure drops below a set pressure setting, so it is unlikely. You may have a pressure reducing device where the water enters the building which often has an adjustable pressure feature. This device setting would effect the pressure throughout the house including to the shower.

This valve is factory set at 12 PSI and the range is 10-25 PSI. Yes, to decrease the pressure, you would turn the screw counter clockwise. Please refer to the below PDF for more information: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1283438475959/38647_PROD_FILE.pdf
