Taco may be renowned for their circulators, but those are not the only pieces of efficient, reliable hydronic mixing equipment that they make. The 5003-C3-G is a low head loss brass mixing valve, ideal for a wide range of hydronic heating and domestic hot water applications. An integral thermostatic element monitors and regulates water temperature. The 5003-C3-G is capable of handling temperatures up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure potability, and ASSE 1017 certification guarantees that the water will be mixed down to a usable temperature before flowing through your system. The valve features a tamper resistant cap to prevent alterations to the mixing temperature. Dependable temperature mixing for your hydronic system is as easy as adding a 5003-C3-G.

This is a reliable mixing valve with consistent temps

I have 4 of these mixing valves running in my house in multiple applications, radiant floor water, domestic hot water, driveway de-ice, and warm water spickets. They are consistent and reliable, easy to install, and seem to last a long time (I have one yet to fail). The integrated check valves work well. My only caution is to be VERY careful when sweating them in, the check valves melt easily. I keep a spare on hand, but it doesn't look like I'll ever need it (knock on wood).

This Mixing valve is junk

This is the first one that bought. There is another review for the second valve that I got. I tried to use it in in floor heat. I have a high end boiler that reads outside temperature to find its set point. This mixing valve could not handle the changing temperature it was all over the place 106 to 160 it had no control at all. The first one did the same thing. So I replaced it whit a Watts LFMMV-UT-M1 mixing valve now the in floor heat stays at 115 +/-1.

Good valve, works as expected, but came short one gasket

Overall a great valve. I'm not sure if it was opened or something, but it came with one gasket for the mating surfaces missing entirely. Took quite a number of trips to local shops to find one the right size. Ignoring that, it does what it's supposed to. Drops my 150F water to just under 125F. Note that the setting adjustment does have 'H' and 'C' directional indicators to show which way to turn the dial....I hadn't noticed these initially, so figured I'd mention as they are handy. Overall, recommended!

Temperature gauge spins and cannot read temp

The mixing valve is fine. You need to remove the cap to adjust it. No Clear indicator on the valve setting. Which would be ok if the temp gauge did not spin and change the displayed temp.

Works great

Very intuitive product to set up. Fine level of adjustment. I was able to accurately set hot water temp by leaving a faucet on and turning the valve until the temp gauge was at 120 degrees. It's much easier to do it this way than to use the valve without the temp gauge where you would be guessing and checking by running back and forth between WH and a faucet. This also has check valves built in and mesh screen washers to protect the valve.

Works as Advertised

I bought this unit to replace a Taco Mixer that was 30 years old that had ceased functioning years ago. This one works great and is especially more desirable because it has 3 unions instead of only 2 like the old one. Hopefully when this new one wears out, it will be much easier to replace.
