Yes, they should work fine with either wiring station.
The 2 extra wires on the 4 wire unit are for an end switch. They would signal a pump to begin operation when the valve is open. The two wire solely opens and closes the valve on a heat call.
You will need 24V power supply and something that turns power on and off.
The A3030003 Zone Control Module Board will only work with a 4-wire actuator in order to complete the end switch. You will need to change out the board to a Powered Zone Control Module Board (PZCM) (A3080404 or A3080406). With the PZCM you can use a two-wire actuator with a jumper wire across the R1 & R2 on the bottom connections for the zones that you are using. You cannot do the jumper wire with the A3030003/A3030004 ZCM, as this will call for the ES/ES constantly.
