No, you will probably not get enough flow through a 1/2" line to feed the heater.
Yes, you can use more than one manifold. We recommend two 30-port units.
Yes, that can be done.
Yes, it does come with the fittings for all of the ports.
You can use AquaPEX tubing with the MANABLOC. The ProPEX fitting system will not work on the MANABLOC.
If you have a MANABLOC that has some 1/2" and 3/8", then you need to order a unit that has both 1/2" and 3/8". The ports are not the same size.
The manufacturer does not offer a specification on the internal volume of the unit but the unit has an output of 2.5 gallons per minute.
The thread on the manabloc is specific to the unit and isn't quote 3/4" or 1" which is why supply adapters are required for every supply line connection. You can make a 3/4" connection to all of these units without losing any capability by using the supply adapters that can be found on our website here: http://www.pexsupply.com/pex/control/category/~category_id=764/~refine=200764+4294959093 .
The hot and cold water supply can come in from the top or the bottom of this unit. There is no reason you couldn't use the top or the bottom.
You can use either one. The front cover comes off so you can mount it either way.
The third supply port at the bottom of the unit is for recirculation of a cold line and often times is not used in a standard plumbing application. To configure the system to only use the hot and cold lines at the top of the unit, a supply end cap is needed to plug up the additional port. It can be found here: http://www.pexsupply.com/Viega-53601-MANABLOC-Supply-End-Cap-5418000-p . It would be best to run the PEX in the area that will have the better insulation. This will help the PEX from freezing and will cause the PEX to sweat less.
