Tool works great and easy
First time truly working with Pex. As a homeowner I previously fixed Pex connections with PVC and Sharkbite connectors.
Then my manibloc key finally broke and I bought the new manifold. Didn't want to spend all the money on an expansion tool, so I thought press fit would be the next best thing.
Yes it's an expensive tool for a homeowner, but it helped save me over $800! (Local plumbers wanted to make a PVC manifold for minimum of $1200).Plus I am going to now go around and replace all the sharkbite/PVC connections! So well worth the price.
I admit Viega scared me with their warning that only professionals should use this tool. But I did old manifold removal and installed new one with 21 connections in under 2 hours with this tool AND NO LEAKS!!!
WELL worth the price!!!

The 1/2" and 3/4" tools are OK. The 1" is hard to open. No proper instruction on 1" tool.

that answer is incorrect. there is a tiny flathead screw in the tool to release it from a partially crimped or not-yet-crimped fitting, where you need to remove the tool without actually completing the crimp
