Yes. PEX Press fittings are compatible with and standard SDR-9 PEX tubing (including Uponor hePEX), as well as Viega FostaPEX.
The PEX tubing is made to specific standards. The major PEX fitting systems are always made to comply with this standard and are therefore cross-compatible. The manufacturers are always claiming that their products will "work best" with their tubing, but I take that as a sales ploy and believe it should all work well together. As a contractor, unless I have excess of another type of tubing, I will usually use the manufacturers tubing so that I have single company accountability should there be any problems. However, everything works fine with other brands.
I'm not familiar with he-pex, but I have used it both with the pex purchased from PexSupply and Home Depot with no problems. They go on very easily.
Yes the fittings fit standard pex, but you need a special compression tool to fit them.
