To make the valve even more convenient to service, consider installing a 1/8 or 1/4 ( depending on size vent ) below the vent to turn off the flow of water.

I saved much money and tuned up my furnace system by installing (with my son's help) 3 of these air removers myself (along with a new Watts 15 expansion tank ) ...and Woo Hoo -- No More water leaking from the pressure limit safety valve, low water pressure, and thank god -- loud banging noises in my radiant baseboards at night ! With help from couple of online videos the job was not hard, done without draining water from system, as we unscrewed the old and quickly screwed on new with valves closed and a towel under to catch any water. I will inspect these internally in couple years to see how good / bad they look to get some idea, and likely replace or clean with vinegar every 2 to 3 years as preventive maintenance. I also rinsed out my baseboard fins which were so dirty / cob webbed and not emitting heat as efficiently and fast vs being clean. I figured we saved at least several hundred dollars vs calling a hvac company. Knowledge is power !

Product appears to work well. I had to replace one of four that I installed after a year in service, because the red side bulk air vent would not stop weeping.

I bought this product to use on my pool pump to keep the filter system free from excess air. This valve worked perfectly even though it's not exactly the intended use. The automatic part works flawlessly and the manual parts is a plus.
