This valve is an easy way to drain and recycle the water inside the boiler and also get rid of the air inside the system. On thing I notice the price has jumped up about 30 % due to tariff war. That is suck.

I used these when I changed our well tank, so that I can isolate and drain the house plumbing without draining the well tank. I used the sweat versions when I split a zone from our hydronic system - I love being able to isolate and drain each zone separately to work on them while the heat is still on. Also helps with bleeding air from the zones - close the main ball valve and open the drain, then open the ball valve on the boiler output until all of the air is out of the zone. Close the drain, open the ball valve and you're done.
