2" PET Economy Gas Test Pressure Gauge (0-100 PSI)

I used this test gauge for pressure testing my pex water lines. It's the right tool to do a high pre air test in water supply lines.

Cheap product. The paper face on the dial had peeled away from the backing so that the needle ran into the paper and could not pass the 40psi mark making the gauge worthless. I had to buy a new gauge at my local pluming supply store to pressure test my water lines. The connection between the body and the gauge leaked out of the box, the threads on the female NTP portion seemed poorly machined and leaked until I put a think layer of tape on the connection to the PEX connector Wasted an hour of my time and another $10 just to get this gauge to work

Q: What is the primary function of a pressure test assembly? A: Hold pressure. This item does not hold pressure. Threaded body is flimsy, and threads are roughly cut, so I could not get the threaded connection to stop leaking, even after repeatedly re-making the connection with various tapes and amounts of tape. I bought 2 of these so I could pressure test two systems at once, neither of them could be assembled bubble-tight to the systems being tested. I ended up retiring one, and scavenging the gauge and schrader valve from the other and rigged them up with iron fittings from a big box store - this added a few more threads to the assembly, but at least they didn't leak!

Glad I bought it, however, I suggest that you test this by itself first for leaks. I had to had thread sealant.

I needed to do a pressure test on a freshwater system so I purchased the 2" PET Econony Gas Pressure Gauage. When I first tested the system it would not hold air. I assumed I had a leak. It ended up being the guage. After taking it apart and reassembling it using thread sealant the leak disapeared.
