Meets new requirements, removable pressure vessel is a plus

Our water company recently changed requirements for backflow preventers and double-check valves were no longer accepted. This RPZ unit meets the new standard and has the added benefit of being removable for our freezing winters as well as providing access for system blowout via the Zurn RK-1. Easy to install and (as usual) arrived within two days from SupplyHouse.

Exact Replace for Irrigation Backflow Prevention

Client did not remove the guts to the old valve for winter storage, damaging the old valve to the point of leaking and were worried about backflow prevention. Accessed the issue with the old valve order replacement and it arrived very well packaged. It was also very easy to install and at a great price. Client was very pleased. Now they have scheduled removal for winterization of irrigation system.

EXACT DUPLICATE OF ORIGINAL 1" WILKINS 375

I'm the local handyman for our 40+ house subdivision and normal jobs include HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and small engine repair. Client called about a backflow preventer on their irrigation system that was not removed during the winter, now leaking and showing signs of freeze damage. I use supplyhouse.com for most jobs due to speed of delivery, packaging and always having what I require to do the job. This job was no exception. I received an exact duplicate of the original Wilkins BFP making for easy replacement. Thank you to all who had a hand in getting this part to me quickly.

Great inexpensive backflow preventer

The 375 model is a great inexpensive backflow preventer for any application. I have installed about 10 these and only had a couple with manufacture defects. The best thing about the 375 model is the fact that the body can be removed and replaced if needed instead of replacing the whole assembly. Wilkins is a great brand and you can't go wrong

Q: shouldn't my 3/4" Wilkins 375 Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly be installed in a horizontal orientation to allow for proper operation and drainage of the relief valve? The reason I ask is that I have a plumber telling me that it can be installed in a vertical orientation.. do you have more detailed printable information on this specific installation issue?

Jeff, I have my backflow installed horizontally. Vertically just doesn't make since, and I haven't seen one to date installed in that position. If I'm not mistaken, if the height of the backflow is lower than the highest point of your yard this could be why he's recommending it. Hope this helps. Gary
