This thermostat is terrific. I can't verify it, but it seems to keep the temperature within a couple of 0.1s of a degree. My old digital thermostat wouldn't turn on until the temperature was 1 degree above the set temp and wouldn't turn off until it was 1 degree below the set temp. This thermostat needs to be programmed by someone who knows the specifications of your system.

Had it 3 weeks now and it is easy to use/program, etc. so I am happy with its function. I do not like the click it makes when it sends the signal to turn the system on/off. Old one didn't make this noise, and it is very noticeable. Do to where it's mounted (@ hallway leading to bedrooms) the noise is bothersome at night. It's not just mine, all of these models do it. I am getting a different stat that hopefully doesn't make this noise

Installation instructions foot note

Comments about FocusPro Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

Wiring from a four wire system should have been explained clearer for the average home owner. The thermostat connections could be verified at the furnace on the grid connections. G which is green wire for fan, w which is white wire for heat, y which is yellow for compressor however my wire was blue. The red is the hot 24 volt wire which in conjunction with the batteries give the thermostat life. The c terminal is not used on my system. So, the red wire goes to R and in my case, the jumper remains and is attached to RC terminal. I just feel the red wire could have been explained a little clearer for 4 0r 5 wire application and if you want a fifth wire how a jumper at the furnace would be made to have thermostat function whereas keeping the battery as a back up or not using them at all.

Great Upgrade

Comments about FocusPro Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

I replaced a 30 year old mercury thermostat with this. It is a very nice upgrade to an old thermostat. I am very pleased with my purchase. It was very simple to install and follow the manuels programing for my gas furnace. My bill has actually dropped. Due to the fact that you see exactly the temperature you want when you input. Great product and great company to buy from.

Just what we wanted

Comments about FocusPro Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

Great product and PEXsupply delivered quickly; easy installation and easy to program and change when needed. Only drawback with the 5/2 weekday/weekend program is that you must override on Fri p.m.s and Sunday p.m.s (days are OK but weekends for us are Fri and Sat evening and Sunday p.m. is treated as a weekday evening. This is minor, but maybe should have considered a full 7 day programmable unit. It accounts for DST and is easily programmed and overridden when needed. So glad we used our Consumer Reports as a guide and read other reviews before purchasing.

Honeywell FocusPro Thermostat

Comments about FocusPro Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

The thermostat has a nice size display, easy to read. I've been using it 2 weeks now without trouble. It is doing its job. My only issue, the narrative says it is a 5-1-1 programmable when it is really a 5-2 programmable. That is why it got 4 stars instead of 5.

Comments about FocusPro Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

Looks great in any room, Easy to install, great instructions and design. Very easy to program.
All the right features for the average home.
Large backlit easy to read display.

Unit makes a quiet relay click sound when turning on and off, so if you locate it near a bed keep this in mind.

Used other Thermostats and Prefer this One!

    Q:

How does the hold button work?
Asked on 6/10/2014 by Carol from Enola, pa

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The “Hold” feature turns off the program schedule and allows you to adjust the thermostat manually, as needed. Whatever temperature you set will
be maintained 24 hours a day, until you manually change it, or press RUN
SCHEDULE to cancel “Hold” and resume the programmed schedule.

Can this thermostat be used with a Zone system, which is both heating and cooling. 1 Thermostat upstairs and 1 Thermostat downstairs?

This is what I used it for. 2 zone forced air / a/c. works fine

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Yes, that's exactly how I installed mine. I have central air for cooling and a boiler for heating, with 3 separate zones. I used 3 thermostats, they work great and were compatible with basically any combination of services.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

With heating you usually have zone valves and you could control heat from both locations. With AC usually only one thermistat controls the unit. So you have to select one of them for the AC temperature. That is how I have it set up in my home. The AC is set from the upstairs where the temp would be the highest.

      Answered on 10/10/2012 by Anonymous
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

It can, as long as you have a separate thermostat for each zone and single-stage heating and cooling sources.

The REM500R1001 is a wireless communicating network. The Focuspro is a hard wired thermostat. So the Focuspro will not integrate into a wireless communicating network.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

No, this thermostat does not have that capability. You can program it within that range, but renters would be able to override the program settings.

No. This t-stat does not allow you to set the max & minimum temp ranges. If you want one that does this purchase a Robertshaw RS5110 t-stat.

What should be the heat cycle rate for a steam gas boiler?
    Asked on 11/26/2010 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

First, you need to go into the Installer Set-up and configure the thermostat to match the installed heating/cooling system and customize feature operation as you desire. In SET-UP Function #5 STAGE 1 HEAT CYCLE RATE (CPH: cycles/hour), you need to hit “1” for Steam or Gravity Systems. Please follow the directions in the Installer Guide on Page 6.

i've changed the batteries in this unit now it says tempory and the heat wont go on?????
    Asked on 11/19/2010 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The batteries used for your thermostat should always be changed once a year. If the new batteries are installed within 2 minutes from the time you took the old batteries out, the time and day will not have to be reset; or it might be in the “Hold” setting and you would need to press “Run Schedule” to resume the program schedule. Also make sure the thermostat is set to the system you want to control (heat, cool or auto).
