To begin, press and hold the "Up temperature button" and the FAN buttons simultaneously until the display changes. The display will show the "Function" number on the left and the "Setting" on the right. Press the "next" button until you reach function "14", it will display a setting of "0". Press the "Up temperature button" to change from "0" to "1", this will change the readout from fahreneit to celsius. Press "Done" to exit and save the setting.
Easy. Just go into programming by holding the center bottom button and the up arrow button at the same time. Then release the buttons. Now select the item to change by pressing next until you get to item #14. Then press the up arrow to change. 0 is for Fahrenheit and 1 is for Celsius. Press done...That's it.

The batteries may be the reason the thermostat does not recognize the time settings. It is suggested to reset the unit by reprogramming the settings. If this does not work a new unit would have to replace this one. The batteries in this unit must be Alkaline only (no Lithium batteries can be used).
